Today was pretty great!  ^_^

My Tron book came from Canada today!  :D  And the great thing is, it's in NEARLY PERFECT CONDITION.  There's a few creases and stuff on the cover, but nothing really that bad.  THE SPINE ISN'T EVEN BROKEN IT'S LIKE NEW.  This book is older than me, I'm astounded that it still looks as good as it does, I wonder if anyone's even read it.  <3

We went to Krystal to eat, yum!  :D

I've been listening to this cover of Still Alive a good portion of the day.  :D  So awesome.

Played the Portal mode in Audiosurf, it is so cool.  :D  Chell gets a surfboard and there's companion cubes and it makes you play a song I love the first time you do anything when you load the game up.  XD

Pre-ordered Portal 2 and pre-loading it now.  There's strong rumors it might get released for play early.  :D

Since it might get out early, I decided to finish my Portal novelization.  :D

Still Alive (Chapter 23)

Ahh, it's nice to finally have it done, though it needs a LOT of help, but that is going to wait until after Portal 2.  The main thing that's going to be added is awesoming up some of the portal transitions.  :D

Just finished the last official chapter of my Portal novelization!  :D  There'll be one or two last updates for it posted to this journal, but that's it, it's done and over!  :D

It still needs editing and fixing up, but I'm going to wait until after Portal 2 to make it nice.  ^_^


-The final battle is even shorter than I thought.  XD  I knew the neurotoxin counter was 6
minutes, but I thought GLaDOS talked a little bit more before than she did.  XD
-My previous research on deadly neurotoxins causes me to think that chlorine gas is the 
closest deadly neurotoxin to the one in the game, and as such I'll be using its symptoms.
-Symptoms of breathing chlorine gas:
Stinging in throat and chest
Coughing and vomiting
Eye irritation
Damage to eyes, nose, throat and lungs
Death by asphyxiation
Dizziness

-Other notes on chlorine gas:
Strong odor
-Maybe need to go back and add more coughing and stuff.

Word Count for This Chapter:  3,399

*bounces*  Finally finished the "behind the scenes" portion of my Portal novelization!  :D  Took me two days, over 10,000 words, and between 6-8ish hours to accomplish.  XD  This means I'll have more than enough time to finish off the GLaDOS section and the epilogue bits.  The story needs some editing and I need to go back and fancy up some stuff thanks to this awesome official video.  :D  Plus changes I may need to make after playing Portal 2.  I just wanted the big, main bulk of the story to be DONEEEE before Portal 2, I knew I probably wouldn't have time to edit it and make it nice.  ^_^

I'm considering making a journal just for the novelization and the revised chapters, that way I wouldn't spam this journal with "OH I CHANGED A WORD, REPOSTING CHAPTER".  And I might add other Portal fanfic/RP stuff to it once this is all set and done.

Today's been pretty good.  ^_^

Pappaw called and me and Mom ate lunch with him at a local Mexican restaurant.  It was pretty good.

After Dad went to work, I spent most of the rest of the night working on my Portal novelization.  :D

Finally finished Chapter 21 of my Portal novelization!  :D  All I have left is the final GLaDOS battle and the epilogue stuff.  Also lots of editing and making a nice source list.  ^_^

LOL IT IS TOO LARGE FOR ONE POST.  XD

Notes:
-Find out what level you fall into
-Find out what levels you look over from the offices
-One bit of subtitles is not present in the heard dialogue
-Need to look back through and see if Chell figured out she could push the turrets over herself without a cube

-It's been so long since I've worked on this, lol
-I need more words other than platform, other floor, and level.  :|
-Cylinder = tank?
-WHOA, totally found a shortcut, you can bypass the catwalk after the fans.  BUT, the offices are interesting, so I guess I'll poke through them anyways.
-I can hear a pellet somewhere, but I can't find it.  :|
-The part after going down the elevator shaft sounds weird, but I'm not sure how to make it better.
-You just jump through the portal on the stairs to the top of the overhang, but I liked having Chell pull herself up and over instead.

-Never noticed the deadly floor under the 5-piston room.  XD
-Should Chell just hop off the piston or cautiously ride it down?
-WHOOPS, jumped off in gameplay and fell through the portal.  Needed to do that, it just was so nicely done, though.  XD
-ARGH I dislike the crazy piston section  XD
-Chell going through the ceiling portal and landing on the piston is the first real example of "spiced up" inspired from the Boots video.  XD
-Was it too much or dumb or what, though?
-Bleh description before getting to the odd, rapid pistons.  :|
-Have I gone overboard with the fancy moves?  XD
-There's a part in the captions that doesn't have sound.  However, I do have the sound for it, so I don't know if it's a glitch.  Gonna put it in for more GLaDOS flavor.

-I feel like the first turret area is written badly, but it was a mess to write.  XD

-Went back and found it, there is no reason that Chell'd find it normally, moving on.  XD

-Maybe need to go back through and change some of the turret sayings.
-I decided to not go into detail about picking every turret up and dropping it.  I may go back later and change this, but I found it repetitive.  :|
-Might go back through and fix some of Chell's caution, based on that video; she has like zero fear of crazy portal antics.  XD  But, that is from the future so...I don't know.  XD
-I am probably overusing somersaults, but I don't care, it's the best way to go through a portal on the ground to one on the wall.  XP

( Wander On Over to Chapter 21 )

Today, I get an "F" for Sleeping.  XD  Went to bed a little later than normal, had a teensy bit of trouble falling asleep, then woke up crazy early and couldn't get back to sleep.  XD  So I got all my daily games done early.  XD

We went to a local hot dog place to eat, it was good!  ^_^

Oh yes, forgot to mention, this weekend, mostly Sunday, it snowed lightly on and off.  :D  And it snowed a little today and Monday.  :D  So awesome.  :D  Nothing stuck, but it was exciting.  XD

Played Digimon Battle for a bit.  I think tomorrow's the last day for the giveaway, so after tomorrow I'm taking a break from the darn game, I've leveled like crazy since around Thanksgiving just doing stuff for the event.  XD

Need to do a screenshot run of Behind the Scenes of Portal and then continue with the novelization.  One of the treats for winning NaNo is supposedly there's a site where you can upload your story and with a coupon code, get a FREE PAPERBACK BOOK OF YOUR STORY.  SO COOL.  *yay*  I might try to spiffy it up and get the images or texture files for the boards that tell each level and use them as chapter markers.  XD

edit:  HAHAHA I figured out how to see the level signs with nothing else using the Source SDK Model Viewer and the information on this site.  :D  I've been wondering how to find them for quite some time now.  :D

 Just finished level 19/Chapter 20 of my Portal novelization!  And with that, I've hit over 50,000 words and have finished NaNoWriMo!  :D  This will be the last chapter labeled as NaNoWriMo and keeping up with word count, I still have 2-ish left to write - all of the behind the scenes and the final battle.  Not sure when I'll get around to it, just sometime before Portal 2 comes out.  XD

Thanks for reading and putting up with this nonsense as I've worked on this project.  I won't be as much of a pest about it now that NaNo is over.  XD

I think I may just cry in relief that it's over and I made it and I'm not a failure.  XD  I've still gotta finish the rest of the story though.  XD

Been a little tired, but not too bad.  :D  I slept a lot more today, hooray!  :D

We had Papa John's pizza for lunch.  It was okay.

Worked some more on my NaNo.  ^_^  I finished the Companion Cube chapter and started the HORRIBLE HORRIBLE LEVEL 18 chapter.  I have to say, level 18 is my least favorite level in the entire game.  It's one of the longest and you have to do all sorts of crazy stuff.  I've talked to a couple of people who also have problems with it.  XD  Nobody loves you, level 18, nobody.  XD

:D  Digimon Battle is adding in Betamon with a pure Seadramon/MegaSeadramon/MetalSeadramon line.  *lovelovelove*  I think they said he'd be added in tonight!  <3  And, he can be captured for free, no money needed unless you want to make it easier.  :D  *so happy* 

Of course, everybody is complaining that they don't like his stats.  :|  Hush up, you got Betamon finally, just be happy for once, people.  :|  Seriously, the fans of this game whine about everything.  :|  The game is free and it's an MMO, something comparable would put you out $5-$15 or more a month.  :|  For what it is, it's pretty darn good.


It's now TV time with Mom.  ^_^

Going to Pappaw's tomorrow for Thanksgiving.  Some of his girlfriend's family is going to be there.  They've got some kids, so he said we could bring a game system to play.  We're going to bring a Gamecube and I've picked out 6 group games of all different sorts for us to play.  Should be interesting either way.

This weekend was pretty good.  ^_^

Mom and my Sister went to help out at the high school, so me and Dad were alone most of Saturday.

Sooo, we watched movies!  :D

First, we went to see Megamind.  ^_^  I liked it and thought it was neat, Dad said it was okay and that he'd maybe see it once more, like rent it or something.

At home, we had an awesome dinner with the stuffed sole fillets, stringy green beans, white beans, and french fries.  :D

We watched the first Narnia movie on DVD, then when I turned the DVD player off, the second movie was on.  I was confused for a moment there.  XD

Later, we watched The Mummy.  ^_^

Sunday, Mom and Dad took my Sister back to school.  I finished up a chapter FINALLY for NaNo.  :D
Chapter 17
I also started a new chapter and worked on it a bit today.  Only a couple hundred over 9,000 words left!  :D

We had Domino's on Sunday.  ^_^  I got the macaroni and cheese in a bread bowl.  :D  I got a bonus, it still had the metal plate they cook it on!  XD

We took it back today, and when I showed it to the two people working there, the guy laughed and the girl facepalmed, we were all pretty amused by it.  XD

Mom went to bed early on Sunday, so me and Dad watched Road to El Dorado.  :D

Ate at McDonald's today.

Me and Mom went to the 12:30 AM showing of Harry Potter last night.  :D  There were a ton of commercials before it.  Cowboys and Aliens is going to be amusing, no matter what, just because of the name.  :D  Also, even though it's probably going to be dumb, I was laughing so hard during the Red Riding Hood commercial, because it sounded like a game of Are You a Werewolf?  XD  They were all like, "The werewolf is somebody in this town." and "Tell me who the werewolf is!" like the girl's the seer or something.  XD  And looking from the trailer, if this was a game of Werewolf, it sounds like she's pretending to be the seer, but she's actually the friend of the wolf, because I'm pretty sure she's sleeping with him.  XD  So, even though it's going to be some stupid girly supernatural romance, I enjoyed the trailer because I played Werewolf for 4 years in college, we played it nearly every meeting of game club.  XD

Anyways!  The movie was really great, except for a few moments that were kinda akwaaaarddddd for me to watch.  *stupid romance stuff*

Also, the telling of the story of the Deathly Hallows was AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL AND WOW AND EVERYTHING.

Also, at the theater, I got a toy from a machine for 75 cents.  XD  It was a Bok Choy Buddy or something like that, they have Japanese or Chinese symbols on their forehead and a picture of what it stands for on the back of their head.  Of course, I get the pink one that says "love" and has a heart instead of something cool like moon or something.  XD  Though, then I remembered that Gaara has "love" on his forehead too, so now the pink buddy is "Mini Gaara".  XD

Dad was home when we got home, so me and Mom talked to him for a bit.  ^_^


Today, Dad got up early to pick up my Sister.  I got up and he told me I should go back to bed.  XD  As he was leaving, the cat came to visit, so he fed and petted her.  ^_^  After he was gone, I went back to bed.

A couple hours later, Mom came in my room and told me to get ready, we were going to Taco Bell.

So, we met Dad, my Sister, and her boyfriend at Taco Bell.  I had cheesy potatoes, a taquito, and 2 breadsticks.  ^_^

When me and Dad came back, the cat was around, so I petted her for a bit, and then Mom came home and she petted her too, until Dad left for work.  It was cold outside.  XD

Goofed of on the Internet for a while.

Worked on NaNo for a bit, got my quota done for today and tomorrow and a little for Sunday.  Hopefully, I'll have at least 2 hours to work on it for Sunday.  This chapter is just going on and on and on, it's almost 7,000 words now, with still a few things to do.  :|  I was going to try to get it done tonight, but then I got irritated because there's still like 4 robots left to kill.  :|  I hope I'll get it done Sunday and just be over with the stupid thing, I've been working on this one chapter for DAYS.

The How's My Driving? Meme

Today was pretty interesting.

Dad got up early to go do something, so I got up to say hi to him.

Pappaw came over a bit later to drop something off.  He then offered to take Mom to the doctor to get a shot for her pain.  She thought that was a good idea and told him she had an appointment at 2:30, so he went to do errands and came back.
Dad was back by the time Pappaw came over again, so after they left, me and him had hot dogs, beans, and potato chips.  :D
Pappaw dropped Mom back home after Dad left for work.  It happened that the cat was visiting, so Pappaw got to meet her.  :D  He said she was a good cat.  ^_^  The cat had also come by Monday to say hi.  ^_^

Me and Mom have been watching TV.

I really need to work on NaNo, but I can't until TV time is over.  *flails*  I probably won't be on until late tonight, if I'm on at all.  (Oooh, I think we're done with together TV for now.)  I can't skip 2 days in a rowwww.  I wasn't planning on working on it tomorrow, but I'll try to after Teen Night.  I'll be on LJ posting and RPing a little, but I won't be on chat.

Might go to the midnight showing of Harry Potter tomorrow, so I won't be around then either.

Playing Portal through Chell's eyes is a new experience, as before, I was all like, "There's a thing, gotta activate it" or "It's a robot, gotta kill it."  Instead, now, I'm like, "What does this thing activate?" and "I really don't want Chell shot up, how can I avoid this?"  I've figured out how to ninja a nice portion of the turret level, but it's partially luck and knowing what to do already.  Though, the last couple of sections are giving me fits quite a bit.  *flails*


Somebody posted a Curiosity Core to roleplaysecrets, and I couldn't resist tossing mine at it.  Fun ensued.  :D  I'm curiosity_core. <3


Going to eat cookies soon and then on to NaNo!  :D
