Roy E. Disney - We were at Animal Kingdom Lodge years and years ago close to when it opened and Roy was there. Dad recognized him in the hallway and we got his autograph in our Disney park autograph books. XD


Conventions (mostly only listing people I've talked to quite a bit and befriended in the order I've met them ^_^):

Chris Ayres and Greg Ayres - I've seen them a few times at conventions and they're really awesome to hang out with.  We spent a long time with Chris at OMGcon this year and that was a lot of fun.  ^_^

Spike Spencer and Colleen O'Shaughnessey - I didn't spend too much time with them, however, they stayed on extra time at MTAC in 2010 when the flood hit and held a special panel for a pretty good long time to entertain con-goers who were stuck at the hotel. Afterwards, I got their autographs and I really, really appreciated that they stayed. They didn't have to, but they DID.

Rikki Simons and Tavisha Wolfgarth-Simons - Tavi isn't really famous, but it feels wrong to not include her, she's really nice and I enjoyed talking to them both. ^_^

Ellen McLain and John Patrick Lowrie - <3 <3 <3 They are super nice and just about my most favorite people outside of my family. <3 <3 <3



There might be some others who I just said hi to or I don't realize they're famous. XD Also, my Sister is writing a book, so maybe she'll be famous one day and I can count her. XD

Sugoicon was pretty fun, but nothing super huge happened, so I'll just throw them out in note form (most are YAY PEOPLE LIKE MY COSTUME XD)

-I got to see a whole bunch of friends from college that I hadn't seen in a while (years in some cases)! :D
-I saw somebody who I haven't been in contact with for 2 years, so yay!
-Chris Ayres remembered us! :D He gave us big hugs when he saw us and on the last day he even hugged us and kissed us on the cheeks! :D
-Chris also said we were "longtime friends" and we chatted with him for a bit two different days.  ^_^
-Also Greg Ayres remembered us too and we talked to him a bit on the last day, he was busy so we didn't see him much.
-One of the webcomic guests liked my cosplay and took a picture of it! :O
-A Homestuck cosplayer really really liked my cosplay and gave me hugs and said I had made her weekend. ^_^
-In the dealer room, I was looking at stuff and heard some guy talking about an awesome cosplay and that's how cosplay should be done and stuff AND THEN HE ASKED TO TAKE MY PICTURE AND SAID HE LIKED MY COSPLAY
-A handful of people took my picture and liked my costume ^_^
-At the rave, two guys were like, "Chell escaped!" My thoughts were "CHELL ESCAPED AND THE FIRST THING SHE DID WAS GO TO A RAVE. YES." XD
-I FINALLY GOT TO SEE SOMEBODY COSPLAY FROM CAVE STORY YAY!  I SAW A DUDE COSPLAYING QUOTE, SO AWESOME.  :D  Didn't have a chance to take a pic, though.  But, I've always wanted to see a Cave Story cosplayer, so, mission complete!  :D



Not much has been going on here lately, things have been pretty quiet.



I did have a bit of excitement earlier today, though. XD

I've been meaning to upload some awesome official Chell artwork to The Portal Wiki for some time now, I finally remembered to today. So while I'm in the process of saving the images, fixing them up, and putting them on Chell's page, ELLEN MCLAIN WRITES ME ABOUT THE CHAT I BOUGHT AT GMX. WHAT ARE THE ODDS? WHAT A WEIRD COINCIDENCE. XD JUST REALLY BIZARRE. I MEAN, IT'S UNCANNY. XD  I FINALLY GET AROUND TO UPLOADING CHELL PICS AND GLaDOS' VOICE ACTRESS WRITES ME.  XD

I'm back from convention and it was AMAZING.

I'm going to try to work on my con report tomorrow, I'm still just so worn out from it all, I was on the go most of the weekend.

BUT IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Two of my favorite/more amusing bits from the weekend:

When I bought Ellen's time at the charity auction, the official title of it was Orion Slave auction.  And I was in full Chell cosplay at the time.

Chell bought GLaDOS at a Slave Auction.

I was like I was living a fanfiction.

XD

They didn't have a strict dress code for the dance, so I decided that I'd keep wearing my cosplay because I liked it so much.  And then I'd be the Chell of the Ball.  *sunglasses*

So yeah.  Best weekend and convention EVER.

Whoo!  I finally finished my timeline for Wheatley!  :D


I've sorted out his back history as best as I can.  When I'm unsure of something or using speculation, I've left notes that give more information.

Things have been pretty quiet around here, not much to report.  ^_^


Dad had an MRI today and has an EEG next Wednesday and near the beginning of August, he's going to the neurologist to see the results.  He's been doing fine lately, so that's good.  ^_^


Um, we've watched some movies, some good and some really really really bad.  I negative recommend Drive Angry.  >:|  There's one character that was fun to watch, but the rest of the movie UGH, total loss.  :|  The Mechanic was pretty good, a bit violent, but still good.  Also Jimmy Neutron is always fun.  :D  Read up a bit on Ooblar on the wikis and apparently King Goobot (who might be his brother) at one point in time traded Ooblar for some butter.  He was never seen again after that.  XD XD XD

Me and my Sister both separately think that Ooblar and Wheatley are a lot alike.  XD  My Sister says that both are useless and obnoxious, or something like that.  XD  And that maybe they should have traded Wheatley for butter like they did for Ooblar.   XD

Been Portaling again, I did some screenshots for cosplay references in Portal and Portal 2.  I'm also in the middle of a Portal 2 run where I'm attempting to put together a timeline for Wheatley.  I'm trying to make an app for him so I can RP him.  ^_^  I also have a BAZILLION screenshots of him that I'm slowly going through to make icons.  I also need to do another run where I pay attention to his personality and other things.  ^_^  My goal is to have him ready by the end of the month because Dad's on vacation in early August.  My account for him is chattersphere, I'm updating it now and then with little tidbits and things for reference and amusement.  XD

I'm working on a Chell cosplay.  :D  There's a convention in Nashville in October that I am going to TRYTRYTRY my hardest to go to because GLaDOS' voice actress is going to be there.  :D :D :D  I ordered the tank top the other night (and some other Portal goodies).  ^_^  I talked to Mrs. Lisa today and she said she could probably help me out with the jumpsuit.  ^_^  We might try to get Maddie involved too, because she can do anything.  :D  And once said she could make a portal gun.  ^_^  I'm working on ideas for the boots, I think rain boots look pretty close to the Portal 2 ones, so that's the angle I'm working from at the moment.  I found some that look ALMOST PERFECT but they are expensive.  :|  However, if the jumpsuit ends up being cheap, I might could justify it.  :D  Then I need to figure out how to do the boot springs, but if I don't, it's not a big deal.  I have an idea of how to do it where it won't mess up the boot and I can take them on and off, but I have NO idea if it's even feasible and if it's sturdy enough to stand wear and tear.  Right now, I'm considering the portal gun optional because it'll be a pain to haul around and get it made.  XD  The boots are fairly optional as well, but I'd like to at least get similar looking or white rain boots.  XD  And even if I can't go to that convention, there's Halloween like the week or so after-ish and another convention I usually go to two weeks after, so I'll have plenty of opportunities around then to wear it.  :D  The library usually does a Halloween party before Halloween and I think some of the teens at Teen Night would be up for a cosplay night and of course there's always just around town for giggles (especially since I actually look similar to Chell whereas I look nothing like Ichigo  XD).  :D

I haven't had a new costume in years I am SO SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THIS.  :D

Helped again at the library today.  ^_^  And checked out all 9 books so far in the Young Wizards series.  :D  I've been waiting for the library to get book 8 and then they got book 9 recently, so I was all over that.  XD  It's been years since I've read the series, so I don't mind reading it again.  It's pretty good, especially the first three books.  ^_^ 

We're going back to the library again tomorrow and Teen Night is some kind of hair feather thing, so that should be interesting.  ^_^  And maybe we can get some cosplay discussion and plotting in.  :D

If all goes well, we'll be eating with Pappaw tomorrow morning.  ^_^

Annnnd, tomorrow night is MIDNIGHT SHOWING OF HARRY POTTER YAY!  :D

And then Saturday is library party day with my Dad as Darth Vader.  WHOOOO!  I'll be helping out with whatever random stuff is needed, like I always do at the library.  :D

So that's about everything really interesting going on right now.  ^_^

Sorry I haven't been around much, haven't been feeling well and then we've been helping out at the library and that's been tiring.  XD

Anyways, we went to OMGcon this weekend, and it was the best con ever!  :D

This was our first time at OMGcon, it's usually during our vacation.  But, this year it hit right, and I won a free ticket to it at MTAC, so yay.  :D

We roomed with Autumn and Geneva and two other girls that they knew.  The hotel was pretty nice.  ^_^

When we got to the con, Autumn happened to be at the front desk, so she wrote our names on our badges and said she wanted to introduce us to some of the guests.  She's been working at OMGcon for years, and this year she was helping out with the guests.

So, we headed to the dealer room, where she introduced us to Rikki and Tavisha Simons.  Rikki is the voice of GIR from Invader Zim.  :D  They were really nice and they had a table with some of their art and GIR prints Rikki would sign.  We talked to them for a while.  ^_^

Robert and Emily DeJesus were nearby, we haven't seen them at a con in over a year, so it was good to see them again.  ^_^

We wandered around for a bit, and finally went to the Uncensored Guest Panel.  We had been to similar events at past cons and had been told that it was really great here.  Oh man, their stories were so crazy and hilarious, I laughed so so so hard.  XD

Afterwards, we chatted with some of the guests for a bit and said hi to Eric Stuart (the voice actor for Brock, Kaiba, and others).

The con was done for the night, so we went back to the room.  A bit later, Autumn and some of the others came back to our room with Rikki.  He wanted a snack, and they had brought some cheese, so he grabbed some and left.  XD

Saturday morning started out rough for everyone.  :|  I ended up getting accidentally hit in the face with a door and my glasses got totally messed up.

We went down to leave, and the group was downstairs with Chris Ayres and waiting on his brother Greg, and they invited us to sit and wait with them.  It was really great getting to talk with Chris.  :D

So, once everybody was ready, we split ways.  Walmart was across the road from where we were, so we stopped to see if the people at their glasses department could help.  The lady fixed mine kinda, but then she said she couldn't do any more because it wasn't their glasses.

After we were done with Walmart, we went to the mall and found Lenscrafters and the guy finished fixing up my glasses.  They don't seem quite right still, but the guy indicated that they should be right.  I think what happened was YEARS ago, I messed up and accidentally dropped my glasses on some concrete and really got them out of whack.  I fixed them as best I could and had to wear them wonky for a week-ish.  When we finally were able to get them fixed, the person acted like they weren't messed up at all and only tweaked them a little.  So, I think I got used to my glasses being wrong and now that they're "right" I have to get used to them again.  XD

Anyways, we finally got over to the convention.  :D

We went by the dealer's room and talked with Rikki and Tavi for a while.  ^_^

We went to a GIR panel run by Rikki, and that was pretty awesome.  :D  He's so funny!

After that, there was a panel run by Chris, and he was pretty great too.  Both panels were mostly just questions from the guests, so that was really great.  ^_^

We hung out with Chris at the autograph room for a while, and we all left at the same time.

The fog machine for the rave caused the fire alarms to go off, so we all ended up outside.  We hung out with the guests and Autumn and Geneva for a little bit, and then we all went our seperate ways.

After a bit, we headed to the rave, especially since Greg was DJing and he enjoys it so very much.  <3 

On the way there, I was given a piece of cake.  XD  Ended up throwing it away because we didn't know where that cake had been.  XD

There were some difficulties, so while people waited for things to get fixed, they sang the Pokemon and Sailor Moon theme songs, it was sooo adorable.  :D

We headed back to the room and looked up Zim and GIR and random things on YouTube.  XD

Sunday started off a little crazy and it took a while to get everything out of the room and stuff.

We stopped at the convention for a little bit and spent some time with Rikki and Tavi at the dealer's room again.  ^_^

Then we went to IHOP.  :D

After we ate, we went to Greg's panel that he likes doing, but we only got in at the last bit.

It was almost time for Closing Ceremonies, so we hung around until then.  They were pretty cool and next year's theme is Pokemon, yay!  :D

We hung around in the main area and bought a couple of the room signs.  XD

I ran up to say goodbye to Autumn and Geneva, and some of the guests were still around, so I got to say bye to them too.  :D

We went back to the hotel and had some free dinner and hung around.

Then, Autumn and Geneva came back with the guests.  :D  I think my Sister said that Greg saw us first and he waved hi, then all the others did.  XD  We ran to the elevator and said a quick goodbye, and since it was glass, waved at them and they waved back on their way up.  XD

We started to head out, but Geneva and one of the other girls was outside, so we talked to them and they said we could wait with them to say goodbye to the guests.  :D

So we all sat in the lobby and talked until the guests came down.

We mostly talked with Rikki and Tavi, and then Greg came over.  Greg gave us all big hugs, which was really, really great.  He's so nice, and it's like, usually people ask the guests for hugs, and the guest voluntarily gave us hugs, so wow.  :D :D :D  He also liked my new Portal 2 shirt I got at the con (more on that in a bit :D).  :D

We didn't get much at the convention, mostly bought stuff from Rikki and Tavi.  :D  I got a Ditto figure, and the lady that gave it to me said, "Now you can make eggs anywhere you go!"  XD  We also bought some buttons and my Portal 2 shirt.

We then made our way to the casino at Metropolis.  Mom had 2 nights for free and it was only a short ways away from Paducah.  XD

We found the DEATHBRIDGE on the way to the casino though.  It was blue and metal and made horrible noises as we drove across.  It was AWFUL.  Mom was not happy about it and trying to not panic and my Sister was breathing heavily and/or whimpering.  I was starting to freak out, but did my best to stay calm, since they weren't doing so well.  IT WAS BAD.  The DEATHBRIDGE felt like it lasted forever.  X_X

Since she hadn't had a card before, when my Sister signed up for the casino's card, she got two $18 food vouchers.  :D  We used one at lunch on Monday and one on Tuesday.  We gambled pretty late Sunday night and ended up sleeping in until around 5:30 PM.  XD  Last week was pretty rough on us, so we needed to catch up on sleep.  XD

Overall, I ended up losing $27 at the casino.  XD

The trip home was nice, and we didn't drive back over the DEATHBRIDGE.  XD

We've been doing laundry and sort of getting ready for our trip Friday night that goes on for two weeks.  XD


Edit:  One thing I forgot to mention about OMGcon, Mom said that she mentioned that we were talking about going to Disneyland in the next couple of years and Rikki and Tavi told her that when we went to contact them so we could all hang out at the park together.  :D :D :D

I was reading a thread on the Steam forums about people's theories for a possible Portal 3, and I had an idea of a beginning of a fanfic that continues off of Portal 2's ending.  XD  Decided to scribble it down here for possible later use.

I think the slice of life bits of the comics "Bone" and "Castle Waiting" has inspired this, especially since I just read "Castle Waiting" recently.  XD
