Portalfordt Fanfic Ramblings/Questions
Mar. 18th, 2010 05:55 pmI'm considering possibly writing the Bleach/Portal AU fanfic with Portalfordt.
However, because of the nature of Portal, I'm wondering whether or not it could be considered a "real" fanfic. It'd end up being more a wonky retelling of Portal, sort of a Portal walkthrough, and a messed up game script. The game script part is what I think the real issue is going to be at, since my idea calls for Szayel to directly quote GLaDOS a majority of the time, some statements will have to be altered for the situation, and I'll add in some new stuff, but most everything is straight from GLaDOS, and I don't know if that's really allowed. It's kinda confusing. Yylfordt isn't a problem, since Chell doesn't speak in Portal, though GLaDOS claims that she says a few things, so I can just make up new stuff, especially when he remarks back to Szayel.
Another issue is Nelliel/Rat Man, as it's never made clear whether or not the Rat Man escaped or got out alive or what in the game. Portal 2 might have some hints to this, however, that won't come out until the end of the year, at the earliest. In the fanfic, I want to have brief flashbacks to the things Nelliel did that Portalfordt can see evidence of, though I'm not sure if that would make it too choppy. I'm not sure what to do about telling how she got into the chambers, maybe start the story out with Szayel watching the video of her losing her Fraccion.

One thing I have yet to add that I'm mulling over is whether or not Szayel altered Portalfordt and Nelliel to heal rapidly, mostly used for sections where they could get shot. Nelliel probably not, though, I'm thinking she'll cut her hand or something repeatedly, in order to make the markings and writings the Rat Man did, as they are red, and it isn't explained what he used to write with.
