Nice Day

Today was pretty good.

Slept in a little.

Forgot to mention that I had a dream a couple days ago that my Grandma's neighbor kept Toothless in their backyard.  XD

Mom went to pick up my Sister at college, so me and Dad did some errands.

When Dad was driving, we saw an Army vehicle that had a machine gun in the back, it was awesome!

We stopped by Wal-Mart to return a lid to some bins that was broke when Dad got it and got some more bins and some Coke.  I checked the Dragon toys, but they don't have Toothless.  Toothless is sold out on the Wal-Mart online store, too.  Amazon has the Toothless toys, but for like double the price Wal-Mart has.  :|

We ate at Arby's.  It was really, really good, my sandwich was still hot!  <3

Things have been pretty quiet, Mom isn't back yet.

I played some Cave Story, still working my way against the final bosses.  I've learned a few things.  XD

I've come up with a bizarre theory and AU for How to Train Your Dragon.

I've been thinking about Toothless lately. The 2nd time I watched the movie, I looked to see if there were any other Night Furys in with the dragons, and there weren't. Somebody at TVTropes also mentioned this.

Toothless is faster, stronger, and smarter than most of the other dragons. In the movie, it seems like the dragons raid mostly at night. There could be plenty of reasons for this, but I want to focus on the fact that it's better for the Night Fury to attack and conceal itself.

I think the Night Fury is the Queen Dragon's Commander. There seems to be only one, and it's better than all the other dragons. If the dragons only attack at night, that gives it the advantage and it's able to attack at its full potential.

The movie isn't clear about a lot of things, but it seems that after Toothless is trapped in the canyon, there aren't any more dragon attacks. Since Hiccup was doing good in the training, it makes sense that he would be on duty with the others to fend off attacks, but this is never mentioned. The only thing that goes against this is the flight of the dragons bringing food to the Queen Dragon, however, it could be food stockpiled, and it looked like a lot of them had dolphins or other large fish, so they could have just been fishing instead of attacking. The Queen has to eat, after all, even if the Commander is nowhere to be found.

The Vikings said that the Night Fury never steals food, it just attacks, so that's another thing in favor of it being the Commander.

The Vikings don't know much about the Night Fury, if the Commander got caught, there'd be trouble. This helps play up his mystery, as if he's never seen, then the Vikings can fear him more.

Toothless, even though he is the Queen's Commander, chose the Vikings over his Queen, because the Vikings treated him better. The Queen is a merciless and brutal ruler, if she isn't pleased by a dragon's offering, then she eats the dragon. Hiccup didn't do that to Toothless, and he realized that he was better off with the Vikings than the horrible Queen.

All this leads me to an AU idea - Victorian-esque Human!Dragons. I have an idea of what the Queen's dress would look like and the Commander!Night Fury's outfit (for some reason, I keep thinking he'd have a monocle XD). I'm still working on the other dragons, I don't know much about military stuff, but I'm trying to come up with where they would fit. The Deadly Nadder (blue dragon) I think would be some kind of shield-bearer with a lance, maybe. I think the Gronkle (lumpy dragon) would be some sort of tank or barbarian or catapult worker, something sturdy. The Monstrous Nightmare (big red dragon) would be like some kind of CRAZY SPARTAN or something, since it sets itself on fire and kicks everyone's butts. XD The Hideous Zippleback (green two-headed dragon) would be like a guy on a horse - thus accounting for both heads. XD The Terrible Terror (tiny dragons) would be like scouts or something, maybe having like messenger birds to send out messages.

This changes the movie into Victorians vs. Vikings. XD I don't know if the Victorians fought the Vikings, I don't believe they did. XD If I do anything with this nonsense, I'll need to look up actual parts of the Victorian army and if they did fight the Vikings at any point. XD

I've nicknamed the AU, "The Master and Commander AU". I've never seen the movie or played the games, but I love the title. XD The Queen is the Master and Toothless is the Commander. XD

That's a pretty interesting AU.

Thanks! ^_^ I'm not sure what to do with it though. XD I had some ideas of re-writing certain scenes of the movie with the AU, but I need to get it all together and figure out how to parallel it better. XD I can easily see it drifting off into bad!fic territory, and I don't want that. XD
