No, I Will Never Shut Up About Portal :|
Today I woke up with a headache and a ringing in my ear, so I got up. XD The headache went away after a bit, so that was good.
Pappaw called and wanted to know if me and Mom wanted to eat Mexican with him, so we got ready.
We went to a local restaurant, it was really yummy! ^_^
Dad ate a sandwich and wanted to watch My-HiME, so we watched 3 episodes. XD I think we might only have 4 left. XD
After Dad went to work, me and Mom watched some of the silly birds outside, there was a robin just sitting on a sticky branch and the squirrels were funny, and robins were munching on things in the grass. XD
A gift to the Internets - a pretty much complete screenshot gallery of the Bleach filler character Ran'Tao.
I then played Portal, huzzah! I beat it in one sitting, which is a new record for me, I had always split it up. It's my 3rd time beating it, though I've been through 4 Companion Cubes, because I messed up at the beginning of that level the first time. XD
Also, it's really hilarious to use the portals to watch Chell pick up objects with the portal gun, as it makes them hover in the air. XD
The new radio thingies and the added ending were pretty cool. I was afraid the radios might be too intrusive, but they weren't so bad, and I looked it up online, and there were some that I didn't even notice. XD Though, trying to find the right spot to activate them is a little bit of a pain. The extended ending only added one or two sentences and a slight bit of animation, but it changes everything. XD
As I played, I was sort of cataloging quotes for Szayel in the Portalfordt fanfic. Turns out a lot more things than I thought will need to be fixed, because they don't make sense in the context in which the fanfic happens. I'll also have to fix more of "Still Alive" than I thought. XD I was also coming up with a few things for Portalfordt to say. With Nelliel, the markings on the walls are both red and black, so I won't have to use the cutting of the hand unless I want to.
Though, I've come upon a different problem. I don't think Yylfordt, Nelliel, or really anyone for that matter, could survive the testing. A lot of it is testing and seeing what works and what gets you killed in the later levels. I've played it twice before, and I was making stupid mistakes and missing jumps, and I knew what I was doing. You almost have to have some kind of advanced knowledge - seeing something you missed before you died - in order to make it through. You also need to be able to apply things you learned earlier in the game to some very different circumstances later - almost abstract thinking/association, I think. Yylfordt has average, maybe slightly above average, intelligence, so he may not even be smart enough to figure out some of the trickier things on the first try - the whole thing hinges around one entire perfect run without deaths, along with Nelliel making a perfect run (at least to a certain point) and that's hard to do even if you have an idea of what's all coming up. The turret robots are especially a point of concern, though I think I'll go with Yylfordt having been modified for accelerated healing. (Ha ha, though the two turrets I thought it was unavoidable to getting hit by, I was able to defeat them without them firing a shot at me. XD)
The whole thing becomes rather abhorrent when you start thinking in the context of a person running through the tests, instead of it just being a video game. A person is facing these hard challenges, a person has to run through these tests, a person is getting shot multiple times, a person is falling into a deadly lake of acid.
The game takes only a few hours to complete, but it might be better to space out the fanfic over days, you'd be tired after running and jumping and portaling. Chell must have crazy stamina, or it did take place over a space of time somehow (which, typing this out, I don't think that's the case).
There's a lot of issues to be worked around, especially the final battle. I'm not quite happy with my solution to Szayelifying it, but at the moment, I can't think of another way to do it, due to the strange nature of the original game. XD My solution has a few bugs in it, that I'm still trying to fully think out. I'll also have to pick and choose which quotes to try and adapt, there's some that won't work quite right, but I think I can tweak them because they're really awesome. XD

However, if I actually start/finish this fanfic, it will be some kind of miracle. XD I'm notorious for jumping from project to project or RP character to RP character and leaving a wake of unfinished remains behind.
Also, somebody made an awesome song using some Portal quotes and a cool beat, then somebody made a sing-a-long video. XD
On a more serious topic, I've been reading the books I got at the Christian bookstore, they're pretty neat - about the adventures of 2 cats and 2 dogs through Bible stories, so far there's Noah and Joseph and maybe more to come. Anyways, the lady that wrote the book wrote a note talking about research and things she did for the stories, and that God inspired her to write the stories and that He pretty much wrote them. I'm concerned that I'm only inspired to write ridiculous things (like the Portalfordt nonsense above) and RP strange characters. My stuff has nothing to do with Christianity or anything, but it seems that the stories write themselves, I guess I don't see how God could use my nonsense that doesn't have anything to do with Christian things. Also, Szayel is about one of the furthest things from Christian ideals and stuff, but I'm always compelled to RP/write him. >_> My whims are always harmless, I'm always doing weird things like making screenshot galleries and other things - usually I end up making a new friend, even if I don't ever see them again (like the time I went to the computer lab to work on something). I guess I'm just feeling confused and useless, and wondering why none of my stories are even remotely religious. :|

Yep! I haven't beaten Diamond or Platinum either, all you have to do is activate Mystery Gift. What Gamestop/Toys R Us does is send the Pokemon wirelessly when you use the Mystery Gift in the store, and then you pick up the Pokemon at any Pokemon Center. ^_^ I think you have to be past the first Gym badge in order to do it.

They might re-release Mew, it just depends. Mostly on what they put in HeartGold and SoulSilver, most of the Pokemon lately have some effect in those games.
