Medium Day
Today started out strange.
There was an awful noise outside that woke me up. It continued, and I went downstairs to check it out. It looked like some people were cutting off tree branches nearby.
The racket kept going on, so I played my Wii Bleach game to ignore it. It went on for a long time.
Mom got up, she wasn't pleased with the noise either. She was going to Memaw's and Pappaw's to talk about Memaw's doctor visit.
They had gone to a local cancer expert in the area, and he had never seen a case of the second cancer Memaw got, so he is talking to other doctors about what to do. They are going to take blood samples of Memaw's brothers and sisters, to see if there are any matches, while that's going on, they are going to try a different treatment to see if it helps.
After my Sister got out of school, we all went to Captain D's to eat.
After that, Dad went to work, and Mom dropped my Sister off at the library, while we picked up a few things at the grocery store. We got my Sister, and then went to Memaw's and Pappaw's.
We stayed and chatted for a long time. Memaw was doing a bit better today. Pappaw seemed lonely, and every time Mom tried to leave, he started talking about something new. He told some really neat stories about when he was in the Air Force. He worked with helicopters. He said that once, a friend that he worked with, when they were near New York, took him around the city in a helicopter, and they even got up right in the face of the Statue of Liberty! How cool! He also talked about that at one of their bases, there was a creek nearby, and they all used to fly helicopters low to scare the turtles. Pappaw talked about once, they went out, and a bad snowstorm came up, and the wind was so strong, the helicopter was not going anywhere! They knew this, because there was a tree that had remained in the same place the whole time. They managed to get back to safety, along with the other helicopter that came. He also talked about how they would go swimming, and practice live water rescues from helicopters. He said this came in handy once, when a train went off the tracks, and into some water. They were able to get a lot of hurt people to safety. My Pappaw's done a lot of awesome things. ^_^
After our visit, we went home, and I played Bleach Wii a bit more.
We had a snack, and my Sister found and interesting movie on TV, so we watched it, and I poked on my computer some.
Well, that's about all for today!
