Magical Shojo Cosplay Game (Courtesy of Shugo Chara)
So, I read Shugo Chara a week or so ago and thought it was pretty neat. I came up with an idea regarding it, and I thought everybody might want to get in on the fun. ^_^
A simple version of the premise is that people have tiny guardian characters that help their owners out and give them special powers.
I was thinking, what if the characters weren't based on the people's personality or dreams, but if they were characters from other fandoms? XD
Each guardian has an egg that they hatch from, and a person can have anywhere from 1 to 4 eggs. Having a single egg is most common, but there are some twin eggs, and only special people have 3 or 4.
Each character has two stages of powerups (sort of like Shikai and Bankai in Bleach XD), in the manga, only special characters or characters in presence of certain artifacts could get the second one, but that's no fun, so everybody can use it in this little game. XD
The first powerup is Character Change (essentially Shikai XD), where the owner gets just a little power from the guardian. Often they only have one or two attacks and maybe a weapon, and only a small (if any at all) change in the owner.
The second powerup is Character Transformation (essentially Bankai), where the owner changes to be like their guardian near completely. They have several attacks, the ability to purify corrupted characters (more on that in a moment), a weapon if applicable, and pretty much the clothes of their guardian. (Pretty much, it's super cosplay powers. XD)
Also, any and all form names or attack names are usually 2 or 3 words long, sound vaguely Engrish, and may be shojo-y. XD
Corrupted, or X, characters come about when their owner loses sight of their dreams and is close to giving up on them, also a lot of angst or doubt can cause a guardian and egg to be corrupted. The guardian goes back in the egg, and the egg turns black with a white X on it. Sometimes the X eggs will hatch into a corrupted version of the guardian, which may not look anything like their pure form. A person can still use their powers, but they will be dark and possibly nothing like their original ones. Also, an X guardian cannot purify other X guardians or eggs. They can be purified by either using a purifying ability from the 2nd stage power or by the person once again believing in themselves. If an X egg is destroyed, so is the guardian inside of it, forever. A person may possibly get another guardian if they find something else that they're interested in.
I'll post a couple of examples of how I'm thinking this all would work with characters. XD Also, any and all characters are up for this, including things like Pokemon and Digimon, if you can think of it, it can be chibi guardianified. XD

Million Drill Breaker - Creates Giga-Drills that launch in every direction.. (Last resort attack. Very draining.)
